Session 3
Field Leader: Matt Rivers
Welcome back. We've got a few rivalries heating up after Boot Camp so I'm going to allow the trainees to show the audience what they have learned without me acting as a filter. Every match tonight will be televised which should add an extra element of pressure to these wrestlers and perhaps make sure they aim for the victory rather then furthering a grudge.
Tyler got a big win over Verde last show which should make him feel better after Verde eliminated him from the first Boot Camp Battle Royale. But it seems these two really don't like each other. Tyler's past isn't exactly a peaceful one and that may be what Verde is so strongly responding to as well as causing Tyler to perhaps fall back into old habits. I'm hoping that both men can concentrate on not only winning, but furthering the aspects of their game that were lacking during the last show. Verde needs to improve his striking defense and the impact of his offence while Tyler needs to adjust to Verde's speed and not be prone to gloating after a big maneuver.
Match 1 - Verde Fantasma vs. Tyler Alexander
In the last few months, the success of RYOMA has turned a lot of heads: including mine thanks to his lariat. Therefore, many saw it as an upset when RYOMA was eliminated early from last show's Battle Royale. However, I've told you all not to sleep on Dean Annay's abilities and he proved why. He not only eliminated the bigger man, but also the man who won the Battle Formation Royale. I think Miss Matsuki had marginalized Dean enough to motivate him to defeat RYOMA. But now that he's on Matsuki Investments radar, will he be able to withstand RYOMA's full assault?
Match 2 - Dean Annay vs. RYOMA
Although our next match is the only one without any specific history, I was not going to insult the Marauder by not featuring this on video. He is not on the Basic Training roster but I have allowed him participation in this match due to his new status as Luke's mentor. Given what happened at the last show, Marauder wanted to set a good example for Luke as to how to wrestle a victorious match rather then just cleverly outwit the opponent. I'll give Thomas and Calvin, especially Calvin, credit for not backing down from this immense challenge. Marauder is a former Battalion Champion and has more experience in a wrestling ring then the other three men combined. This will be a tall order for Thomas and Calvin, but perhaps even more so for Luke in trying to suitably impress his new found mentor. My guess is we'll see less dancing, as a result.
Match 3 - Luke Kisiera/Marauder vs. Thomas Mills/Calvin Corbett
Jin Onusurai and Lucha La Barba won their respective Boot Camp Battle Royales. I was impressed that Jin was able to bounce back from his loss from me and that La Barba won his debut match in UBL in such spectacular fashion. It's clear each of these men are near the top of the roster in abilities and their different styles should provide a very interesting matchup. The winner will challenge for my Field Leader Title at the next show.
Match 4 - Jin Onusurai vs. Lucha La Barba
We'll see you in October.
