*THRASH Ogawa stands in front of a brick wall (with graffiti on it that reads "FPR") outside the Peter Venkman Memorial Arena. He is smoking a cigarette and motions to the cameraman to start rolling.*
[THRASH:] "For years I told UBL I'd speak when I had something to say. They kept sending John Randolph after me to answer inane questions in the hopes they could get me to 'connect' with the fans. I didn't care then and I don't care now what the fans think of me. But everyone in this promotion has failed to understand something."
*THRASH takes a drag from his cigarette then flicks it out of his hand.*
[THRASH:] "I came here with a purpose, and that purpose is to fight until I run out of victims.
That is why I want the Circuit Title, because its purpose aligns with my own. The whole point of the title was to have it defended on every show, to allow the Champ to fight everyone they can: the best and the hungriest. You get one shot at it and, if you lose, someone else steps up. Sure, I can keep facing different opponents on my own but a prize brings out the best fight in people. I'm going to win that prize, but I shouldn't have had to wait this long to get a shot at it.
That is why I'm sick of watching the Circuit Title, born of unique purpose, become just another Title in this promotion that isn't defended as much as it is should be cause of a stupid rivalry. And don't confuse this for some lofty words about respect for the 'honor' of a Title like Tetsu may wax poetic about. My beef's about a Title which reflects my goals being forced to deviate from its purpose, causing my pursuit of it to have to wait all year. Had Sanders moved on after he lost at "Lunar Eclipse," I could have gotten my guaranteed shot earlier. But he steals the belt like a coward, and Tetsu falls into his trap like a rookie. So a fighting man's title is born but its competition immediately slows to a crawl. That is the real debasement this year."
*THRASH lets out a grunt of frustration and lights up another cigarette. He takes a drag, waits a few seconds, then slowly exhales.*
[THRASH:] "If you're all really that curious, I was the one that approached Tetsu and RYOMA about joining their team. They didn't come to me but I wasn't surprised they accepted. Tetsu knew I was gonna face him soon, but I don't blame him for still wanting to team with me given his recent struggles. And my intentions were a lot clearer than most people speculated about as well. I wanted a first hand look at my next two opponents. Once I become the new Circuit Champion by beating Tetsu in October, I'm coming for Kurt in December cause he still possesses that belt.
So by the end of 'ALL YOUR BASE,' everything will be made whole again. I will have all of the Circuit Championship: The legitimacy and the belt. And that Title will finally have it's clarity back since it will have my purpose jammed back into it."
*THRASH flicks his cigarette into the camera which turns off with a spark.*
