*The following takes place a week after Continuum III*
::Corey O'Brian is sitting in his car, which isn't running at the moment. He leans back in the seat, then looks to the camera phone::
Corey: "I've been told I can head back to Florida. UBL is going to be on hiatus for a while, and they don't know when the next show will be. For all I know this could have been my last show in New York."
Corey: "With that in mind, first things first. Joachim, I want you to understand something. The only reason I tolerated that asinine stunt of yours was because I knew I could endure your best shot, and it made my job easier. I should have just given you a Core Meltdown right then and there and be done with it, and the reason I didn't do that was to demonstrate that your obvious attempt to get me to give you the trust you seem so desperate to gain from me is in vain."
Corey: "This was your chance to earn a modicum of trust, Joachim. And you blew it. Instead of keeping your head down, accepting that I won't trust you easily, you tried to be cute and demonstrate that you weren't looking to injure me. And that's supposed to mean anything? Of course you wouldn't do that. It'd tip whatever hand you're holding. And you know what's worse, Joachim? I spent weeks preparing for you because I knew you were my toughest obstacle in my block. I wasn't just hanging out in a hotel room ordering food service and watching overpriced on-demand movies, you know. I spent my mandatory two weeks isolation watching tape. And when I wasn't watching tape, I was training and discussing strategy with an old friend and mentor of mine, the legendary Baltimore Stretcher himself, Jack Panama. The man who gave me his hold, the Sharpshooter, also known as the Panama Lock."
Corey: "So in turning that match from what should have been a wrestling match... wrestling matches being something I live for... and turning it into a Vaudeville sideshow. Not only did you deny me what may be the last UBL match ever, you wasted my time and you wasted Jack Panama's time. If I had known then what was about to happen after... I'd have told you to go fuck yourself."
Corey: "And just so you understand how badly you fucked up Joachim? If we ever meet up in a ring again, one of two things will happen. Preferably, you wrestle me, and that's the end of it. But you instead try to pull anything like what you did? I'm going to assume the worst intentions out of you, and act accordingly. That means no mercy."
Corey: "That means Diamond Head."
Corey: "As far as to what happened after. Once I heard what was going on, I stayed going back to my locker room to shower off and pack up to leave. Why? Not because I didn't give a fuck about what happened to Joachim. Pissed off as I am, he didn't deserve that. Clyde definitely didn't. I did it for the same reason I told Thunderstrike years ago, when he asked me to join forces with him. UBL cannot afford to not have me involved. If UBL does come back, it will need this tournament to continue and the more people still willing and able to compete in it, the more legitimate the tournament was. And we all know that part of the reason for the tournament is that I never lost the NEXUS. If we don't crown a controversy free, true UBL champion... then what the fuck are the people who do fight Gauntlet even fighting for in the first place? The only reason I got involved against DESTINY was because they came after me first. This new Gauntlet has done me no injury, and they probably realize the Pyrrhic nature of making an enemy out of me. So I will serve by keeping what UBL truly stands for alive."
Corey: "All that being said, I hope Clyde has a speedy recovery. And that Thunderstrike, Alicia Gordon, Jang Bae, and Joachim, stay safe whatever happens. Now if you'll excuse me... I have a long drive, a lot on my mind, and a craving for some Flanigan's."
::Corey starts the car, and Jack Off Jill's 'Author Unknown' can be heard before Corey reaches over to the camera to shut it off::
