::Corey O'Brian is sitting in his office, a Flanigans paper bag on the desk beside him. Xander Starr is there, ready to start rolling camera, but Corey hasn't signalled him to start yet.::
Corey O'Brian: "I'm going to give you a chance to admit you're still listening in to my private conversations, Ruby. The next time you make an announcement, mention popcorn shrimp at the end. I'm going to presume you still are either way, but at least you'll build that much trust, and you won't lose face from it because only me, you, and maybe Thunderstrike will ever be aware. I'm not in conversation with him, mind you."
Corey O'Brian: "Your spy on me, he definitely knew Thunderstrike had come into my dojo before. But your spy wasn't there the first time Thunderstrike had come. I wonder what he told you. Did he know that Thunderstrike tried to recruit me against you? Did he know that I told Thunderstrike I had no interest in joining him?"
Corey O'Brian: "But I doubt you'll ever tell me. Just understand, this animosity, it's all your fault."
::Corey then signals to Xander as the officially aired part of the promo begins::
Corey O'Brian: "Before I get down to business, I want to thank everyone who's offered me their support in the last few weeks. Thankfully I was unaffected by the recent storms here in Florida, but I've decided that all the proceeds from the merchandise sold at the last UBL event will go to the American Red Cross to help with the relief effort."
Corey O'Brian: "Now, I have been asked if I might be interested in facing Jaochim in the future. And the answer is no. I told him exactly what he could do to correct his behavior. I gave him, in his own words, a path to walk. A straight path that he refused to walk. I am not going to continue to give any more time to someone who has consistently wasted mine and I am not going to use one of the finite number of matches my body is capable of performing to indulge in Jaochim's masochistic pity party. Honestly Jaochim, you and Ruby are made for each other with how you two both consistently find the absolutely worst responses to problems you yourself have caused. If you want to leave wrestling badly, just go. You act like you need permission to leave. Nobody cares. Just. Go."
::Corey gets up for a second, takes a deep breath, then sits back down::
Corey O'Brian: "Speaking of Ruby, however. People also have asked me if Ruby tried to shut down my giveaway, or the booth I had put up. And... no, she didn't. I'll give you credit for that Ruby, you have let a dissenting voice speak undisturbed. So in return for that, allow me to give some feedback on your other decisions so far."
Corey O'Brian: "Giving Jasper Woodruff a chance to show what he can do on his own. A good decision. As I've noted before Cosmic KID did... whatever all that was, we are on the precipice of a new era and everyone's place in it will be analyzed. This allows Jasper Woodruff to show he is not like Charles Langford and actually wants to be part of that new era. Wether he proves himself or not, is up to him."
Corey O'Brian: "Replacing Jaochim with Tyler Alexander... was a mixed bag. Alexander himself is certainly a suitable choice and a great signing. However... this is a tournament whose matches are supposed to be known well in advance, allowing participants to best prepare and strategize. THRASH not knowing he would be facing beforehand, even though it was someone well known to him, was a massive handicap to him. I can give the benefit of the doubt that perhaps it was a late addition, but the fact remains that Tyler knew who he was facing in advance and Ogawa did not. With all respect to Alexander, the outcome may have been different had Ogawa been mentally prepared. In short, he got screwed."
Corey O'Brian: "But the aftermath of this match... that's what I find most... disturbing, Ruby. The two of them evaded your security, went backstage, then around twenty full minutes went back to the ring, and the fight was broken up not by your security, but by the man they replaced."
Corey O'Brian: "And where was Goro Yamashita? Because while my dealings with the man are admittedly limited, he doesn't strike me as someone incompetent. So he must have been occupied. Wasn't with me... so what did you have him do, Ruby, that was more important than maintaining the very order you vowed to bring to UBL?"
Corey O'Brian: "To be honest Ruby, bringing order to the chaos that is professional wrestling can be like herding cats. And that's a tall task for anyone... though I wouldn't be surprised if Jean Carter has tried to literally herd cats at some point. Regardless, you made such endeavor a goal of yours and in your second event in charge, your first major show overall, you couldn't manage it."
Corey O'Brian: "Is it the most damning of failures? Hardly. As far as moments of chaos in UBL this barely even registers. But it's a failure nonetheless, one that the talent, the staff, and the fans all deserve an explanation for."
Corey O'Brian: "And if the thought of transparency disturbs you, Ruby... you shouldn't be in charge of UBL."
Corey O'Brian: "I'm going to give you a chance to admit you're still listening in to my private conversations, Ruby. The next time you make an announcement, mention popcorn shrimp at the end.
