----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*The fans are packed into the "Battle Chamber" annex to the Peter Venkman Memorial Arena for the first official show of the Universal Battle League! Drake Yoshida comes down to ringside with a microphone*
Drake: "Welcome to a historic night, the first time in history that the Universal Battle League is held in the United States and the first show of the Universal Champion League for 2007. We all owe many thanks to OrochiGeese for making this happen. But unlike other promotions owned by OrochiGeese, and run by women of questionable intentions, the UBL is not about endless talking. What matters is the competition in the ring and it is with that thought I direct you to our first match. Thank you and enjoy the show."
Match #1 - Jason Hyde vs. Centurion
We get a handshake to start...which is exactly the first and final point where Centurion has any meaningful control of the match: As Jason Hyde is literally running circles around the armored giant and peppering him with middle kicks! Centurion's frustration rises but there's nothing he can do about it as he is simply no match for the speed of Jason! Jason does make one small mistake when he attempts to hit a frankensteiner which Centurion easily catches. But in attempting to powerbomb Jason, Centurion loses his grip as the speedy lucha influenced youngster is able to swing his feet around transitioning into a hurracarana!
Sensing his opportunity, as Centurion appears unable to get back up, Jason hops onto the top turnbuckle! Shooting Star Press!! Ooh...ouch...maybe it wasn't the best idea to do that onto someone wearing armor? I think everyone in the UBL just learned a lesson courtesy of our young risk taker! But as that was the ONLY damage done to Jason, he isn't as hurt as Centurion expected! So when Centurion irish whips him and attempts a lariat, it is to his surprise that Jason is able to quite easily slide under his legs and grab him in a school boy pin for the 3 count! Jason Hyde wins his first UBL match and puts a win onto his league record!
Jason Hyde (O) [School boy pin - 6:24] (X) Centurion
*A shake of the hands after the match shows there are no hard feelings. Jason Hyde even congratulates Centurion for his "defensive strategy" by pointing to his armor and then his own chest in pain. Centurion laughs a mighty laugh and raises Jason's hand in victory as the fans cheer.*
Match #2 - Flip Staley vs. Jack Dod
This match was the exact POLAR opposite of the previous one! For as honorable and respectful as Jason and Centurion were towards each other, Flip and Jack looked like two demons from hell trying to engulf the other in ETERNAL FLAMES OF DAMNATION (or DODNATION as the case may be). It was clear that OrochiGeese had given Flip specific orders for this match as Flip did not waste his time looking to attack an arm or a leg, but rather Jack's neck. One can only assume that was because of OrochiGeese's neck-heavy offense. But Jack came well prepared and had an answer for Flip's strategy. That answer: Multiple shots to the groin and rakes to the eye. And while Flip had trained for "eye rakes" by fighting in the UFC, he was NOT used to the ball-related offense that Jack seemed TOO adept at. It got to the point that the fans were even CHEERING for Flip to fight back, despite the fact that he isn't the most affable fellow AND is under the directions of OrochiGeese. THAT is how much the fans hated Jack Dod for his tactics.
Jack's reaction: Laughter...sick, maniacal laughter. However that was just the opening Flip needed to change his gameplan. Rather then doing what Geese wanted, Flip began fighting his own game, striking away at a clearly surprised Jack! The fans even got into it and started chanting for Flip! However, this did not help his case as he was in utter shock to hear the fans chanting for him...and Jack Dod took advantage of THAT confusion to catch Flip in the DodSmack for the 1-2-3. So in a small way, the FANS won this match by taking both controversial men out of their gameplans...but in a more realistic way, Jack Dod won.
Jack Dod (O) [DodSmack- 10:20] (X) Flip Staley
*After the match, Jack continues to assault a downed Flip until...BAH GAWD WITH A SIDE OF POTATO OLES, ITS TWINKY MCLANAHAN!! Twinky has run down to the ring and Jack Dod bails! Jack laughs at Twinky's behavior and points to his head indicating that he has plans for the iconic McLanahan. Twinky just stands there staring at Jack which proves to be a poor decision...as right behind Twinky, a tired but opportunistic Flip Staley has risen and throttles Twinky in the back of the head with a punch!! Lest us forgot that Flip is working for Geese and a move like that can only gain his favor! Flip laughs, as does Jack Dod...until Flip gives him an angry look and chases him to the back!! Ahh the joys of multiple faction rivalries!*
Match #3: Twinky McLanahan vs. Nightmare
And it appears that Nightmare has been handed a very nice gift here by Flip Staley! Getting to face an injured opponent gives a helpful advantage to Nightmare, but it is an even greater opportunity to do that against a HUGE favorite to win this league, Twinky McLanahan! And Nightmare wastes no time in exploiting the advantage and begins putting the boots to the woozy Twinky! Twinky tries to fight back but Nightmare wisely backs away and implements a very mentally disruptive rhythm of attack. Twinky doesn't know when and how Nightmare is gonna attack and is hurt enough to be unable to adjust to Nightmare's gameplan.
That is until Nightmare makes the mistake of trying to grab Twinky, allowing him to finally get a firm hold of Nightmare to apply a quick snap suplex. Twinky immediately follows up with various other high percentage moves like body slams, armbars, and even a german suplex on a taken-off-guard Nightmare! Twinky raises his arms and roars and starts CHOPPING the bare chest of Nightmare...causing Nightmare to quickly bail out of the ring! And it looks like Twinky's got his mojo back!
Nightmare gets back into the ring slowly...stalking his now more alert prey. Twinky goes for a lariat but Nightmare ducks under him...POISON MIST as Twinky turns around!! Twinky tries to rub the vile spray out of his eyes but Nightmare immediately follows up with a rolling solebutt, sending Twinky down! Nightmare jumps onto the top rope and hits with a rolling senton! Twinky's in trouble and the mist is still in his eyes! Nightmare goes to cover, but Twinky kicks out at 2. Nightmare hits a HUGE brainbuster...2.9! Twinky gets a shoulder up. Nightmare is frustrated and picks Twinky up. He sees Twinky STILL rubbing his eyes to get the mist out and takes advantage of the situation as he runs the ropes looking for a...NO! We won't know WHAT he was looking for as Twinky managed to duck it...run the ropes himself and EMPRYEAN HALOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! But to hit a precise move like that, you need sight - WAIT! Twinky was playing possum at the end! The man could see all along! And the audience can also see the referee hitting his hand on the mat for the count of three as Twinky has just pinned Nightmare and tricked him in the process!!
Twinky McLanahan (O) [Empryean Halo- 12:14] (X) Nightmare
*An annoyed looking but victorious Twinky rubs the back of his head but leaves to the congratulations of the crowd. Meanwhile, Nightmare looks frustrated as he leaves the ring and walks passed loose ally Naja Mask, who teases him for his loss. Nightmare spits some mist at Naja but then gets spit mist back at him as the two men are just wearing masks anyway so that whole little back and forth thing is really more weird then painful. Just REALLY weird. Let's hope we don't see any more of that!*

Thunder Strike (O) [Thunder CLAP - CRITICAL! - 10:26] (X) Naja Mask
*Thunder Strike admires his handiwork but not for too long as Naja Mask's tag team partner Marauder has just come running down to the ring, FURIOUS at Thunder Strike! Thunder Strike wisely leaves the ring as Marauder paces around the ring!! Marauder hates showing emotion but this situation is clearly angering him. Thunder Strike shrugs his shoulders as Marauder points to him and swears vengeance!! In any other circumstance, I'd feel bad for Marauder's next opponent...but this time it just happens to be Bak Fu!! Will Marauder's increased anger due to his friend's injury fuel his fire or will Bak Fu use his focus to pick apart his larger and angry challenger! One thing is for sure, these two men are about to tear each other up!*

*Amazing! Marauder has defeated Bak Fu in what is sure to be the start of an apocalyptic rivalry!! Bak made a very rare mistake early on in attempting that top rope avalanche frankensteiner to the outside only to get reversed into a avalanche powerbomb! Perhaps he underestimated Marauder since he had never fought him before. After a very competitive match, Bak Fu made another miscalculation, perhaps one based on pride, as he attempted the same top rope move later on in the match. Did he think Marauder was weakened enough this time, or did he just desire to hit it after being reversed earlier? In either case, Marauder was able to reverse it yet AGAIN, shocking the fans by keeping Bak down for the 3 count with the powerbomb! It takes a little bit but Bak is finally on his feet and looks like he's not quite ready to stop fighting (when is he ever?!) But Marauder has gone to the back, relishing one of the biggest possible upsets of the League...but for a man who actually WAS the Universal Champion for 2006, WAS it an upset? Or just a sign of what is to come for Marauder! And when can we see a rematch!?*
Marauder (O) [Avalanche Powerbomb - 15:30] (X) Bak Fu
*And it is time for the final match of the evening, as OrochiGeese waltzes out to the arena with a huge grin on his face. He gets into the ring, cracks his knuckles, and gives a big "thumbs down" sign to the audience indicating his intent against Nick Strife. Strife comes to the ring, accompanied by Twinky McLanahan to ward against any Geesian shenanigans. OG shouts out to Twinky: "Come to see Snack Road DIE in person, huh? I'll make it worth your effort!" Twinky just stares back stoically, pats Nick on the back, and we're about to have our match! But not before Strife gets in a quick slap to Geese's face!! It's ON!*
