*The fourth show of the Universal Champion singles league has the fans humming like a hummingbird doing hummingbird activities...such as watching wrestling matches which hummingbirds are apt to do!
*We see 'Mean' Jean Carter roaming around the audience with a microphone in hand*
Jean: "I'm here with some of the UBL fans and have been getting their predictions of who is going to win this entire league. I've heard answers ranging from 'OrochiGeese will rig a victory' to '1..2..TWINKY!' to 'Marauder all the way' to 'Dodstyle is supreme'...though I'm pretty sure that last one came from one of the Dod clan as they support him in tonight's first ever dream match between Jack and Bak Fu!!"
Jean: "But speaking of dreams, the first match tonight is a Centurion one, so grab your pillows! The challenge will be to see whether Flip Staley can put Centurion to sleep with VIOLENCE before Centurion puts the crowd to sleep with shoddy ring work. To the ring, Jorge! Andale, andale!"
(Jorge?)
*Both Flip Staley and Centurion are already in the ring. Flip has a big grin on his face after the dominating performance we saw from him last time...at the expense of an already injured Nick Strife. And Centurion looks somewhat desperate due to his recent chain of three losses straight. Let's get this party started!
Match #1 - Centurion vs. Flip Staley
Flip made the first move here, going immediately for a huge knockout punch. Unfortunately for him, Centurion was able to rotate his head quickly enough so that his head armor was all that met Flip's hand. Flip screamed in pain as Centurion then went onto have surprising early success in throwing him around.
But all this was thwarted by Flip's mixed martial arts prowess as Centurion gave Flip too much room after a throw, and Flip shot on him with a double leg takedown. However, not wanting to make the same striking mistake twice, Flip elected to turn Centurion's helmet to Flip's own advantage. Flip forced a back mount, and then started twisting the helmet 180 degrees. He then applied a rear naked choke, with his positioning more intended to stop Centurion's movement and escape rather then to choke out a helmet-protected neck. However, due to the lack of air flow from his backwards helmet, Centurion quickly tapped out!
Flip Staley (O) [Helmet-aided "Rear Naked Choke" - 5:20] (X) Centurion
*Flip leaves the ring posturing to the crowd and laughing at the comedic scene of Centurion wobbling around with his helmet backwards, running into the ring post and then falling down. Finally the ref helps him out and walks him backstage. Despite this sad situation, Centurion takes no damage to his credibility though, as there were no traceable elements of that to begin with.*
*Next we have Naja Mask and Nightmare set to square off. Naja Mask inspects the premises for emergency eye wash after Nightmare makes his entrance, but finds none...much to his pleasure. Looks like that's a trademarked Dod defense and any imitation will be punishable through law or atomic wedgies.*
Match #2 - Nightmare vs. Naja Mask
A match of EVIL chicanery was had here with each man trying to out-chicanify the other one! Nightmare, who has established himself as a shameless opportunist, took full advantage of the fatigue that Naja Mask has suffered due to his hectic schedule of the last month compared to Nightmare's relatively light one. This gave Nightmare a big edge throughout the match as his endurance was superior to Naja's.
However, when the bulk of the match is eye raking, who really HAS the endurance necessary to combat that!? But Nightmare was able to pull it together and keep control throughout the match, working on Naja's weakened body from the last few weeks. Nightmare continued to dominate Naja through a smart "wait and strike" standing strategy...prompting Naja to get frustrated enough to let loose with his poison mist to attempt to somehow adversely affect Nightmare. However, in the spot of the night, Nightmare SOARED through the poison mist with a flying busaiku knee...actually causing Naja's head to tilt upwards with mist..which then obeyed gravity rather then Naja. Naja, his eyes now full of his very own mist, was defenseless and Nightmare put him away easily with the same leg-lift brainbuster he beat Nick Strife with.
Nightmare(O) ["Leg lift brainbuster"- 9:40] (X) Naja Mask
*Nightmare walks away with another impressive victory but Naja is left in the ring unable to see. His condition is not totally unlike Centurion, but for slightly less ridiculous reasons and with a bit more dignity in handling the aftermath. Naja's ally, Marauder, then comes down to the ring to check on him. However, Naja does not realize that it's the often silent Marauder trying to bring him backstage...and SPITS MIST AT HIM!! Marauder is temporarily blinded as Naja is swinging wildly trying to protect himself!
And if Nightmare is an opportunist, this next man is an outright fatal scavenger! As OrochiGeese, Marauder's opponent for tonight, runs down to ringside to take advantage of the blinded Marauder! And he does just that with a uraken! But that doesn't knock down the MOUNTAIN that is Marauder...so OG runs the ropes and nails him with an upper shotei! Marauder is down and OG keeps unloading with DDT's and a HUGE throwing German suplex. He then makes a throat-cutting motion and signals for the "Raging Bolt"...but wait...It's Jason Hyde!! BAHGAWDONASTEAKSANDWICHWITHBBQSAUCE!! It's Jason Hyde!! (I said that already!!) He has come down with a chair and has run off OrochiGeese!*
Jason Hyde is a participant in the next match, but given how Marauder saved him last show, I think he was returning the favor. Naja Mask is none too happy to see Jason helping Marauder up..and certainly not happy to see them shaking hands. But considering how Naja caused Marauder's vulnerable state to begin with, he's not one to talk. If not for Jason Hyde, Marauder might have been taken out of tonight's match...if not the entire league altogether due to OG's violence!! As it is, Marauder looks a bit shaken up, but he should be fine for later! (as the booker/show writer, i feel confident in such predictions! ;D)
*Jason turns to see Naja and Marauder walk away and catches his opponent for the next match, Thunder Strike, glaring at him. Thunder is less than happy about seeing Jason shaking hands with Marauder... so he goes over and tells Jason about it.*
Thunder Strike: "Why do you continue to consort with the enemy? Marauder and Naja are DANGEROUS."
Jason: "All I did was return a favour. Marauder had my back against Geese last show, and this time I saved him from another of Geese's acts of violence. Isn't that what you are all ABOUT, Thunder Strike? Isn't that what you hated so much about Geese and vowed to stop?"
Thunder: "I'm not foolish enough to do it alone. You should have waited for me before you jumped in the ring with three enemies... three men that would LOVE to take you out."
Jason: "There wasn't time. I had to act then and there, or Marauder could have been eliminated and seriously injured."
Thunder: "It could have been a trap to seriously injure YOU."
Jason: "Yeah, Marauder and Geese seem to be getting along just fine recently. Not everyone is as paranoid as you."
Thunder: "The word is 'careful', and it's kept me alive in more situations than you could even imagine. But it's clear that you don't understand its meaning. And if you keep pulling impetuous stunts like this, I won't be able to constantly save you and clean up your mess."
Jason: "Uh huh... So, which one of us managed to beat Marauder fair and square, center of the ring? I think I can take care of myself just fine, thanks."
Thunder: "Really then? Let's find that out right now."
Match #3 - Jason Hyde vs. Thunder Strike
And these two go right at it exchanging chops, testing each other's mettle! Thunder Strike ups the ante with elbow strikes but Jason fires back with low kicks! It's clear that this is a test of determination at this point more then anything else after the previous words exchanged between them and Jason is backing up what he said! He CAN take care of himself! He CAN stand toe to toe with the likes of Thunder Strike just as he did with Marauder! And the two of them just keep going at it for a good three to four minutes, seeing who will be the first one to fall down from chops and elbow strikes! However, Thunder Strike decides to switch gears and implements a different strategy, that of a brutal knee to the stomach which doubles Jason over. Thunder Strike is finally able to take control over the match and begins working on Jason's stomach and back region while also keeping him close at hand to avoid Jason's lucha skills. He begins hitting Jason with a number of modified back breakers and back drops, then cinches in a guillotine choke hoping to end the match early. Jason refuses to tap and Thunder Strike decides to pick up the pace of his offense.
But when Thunder Strike lifts Jason up to try to finish the match with his signature kicks, Jason shows he still has a lot of fight left and benefits from being back on his feet. For as good as Thunder Strike's uh...striking is, Jason is still the quicker man. He shows it by catching Thunder Strike with a low kick to buy him some space and then executing a lightning quick hurracarrana that actually sends Thunder Strike rolling outside the ring! Thunder Strike looks frustrated and circles the ring a bit, trying to regain some strategy but makes the mistake of not keeping an eye on Jason! That earns him recipient status of a huge plancha, but one that also causes Jason a bit of pain due to the punishment he had already sustained to his back.
Thunder Strike slides Jason back into the ring and immediately tries for a pin but Jason kicks out. A kick combo only gets a 2.9 and Thunder Strike appears frustrated. He picks up Jason for the "Thunder Clap" but Jason amazingly counters it into a frankensteiner and gets a very close 2.9 from a shocked Thunder Strike! But despite the near win, Jason is still down in pain due to his back. Thunder Strike drags Jason to the middle of the ring and applies the Dissonant Dreams (Fish Stretch Sleeper). But Jason refuses to tap and also seems too full of energy to pass out! Thunder Strike keeps adding torque to the move but Jason yells: "Is that all you got?" Finally Thunder Strike lets go and looks at him in shock. Jason won't be pinned, and he won't tap out!! Thunder Strike backs off a bit...something he has avoided doing this whole time out of awareness of Jason's natural speed, and decides to give Jason some time to get back up. Thunder Strike smiles and makes a "bring it on" motion with his hands. Jason approaches but slowly, half out of caution half out of body fatigue. But the two begin going at it again with strikes just like the start of this match! Only this time its clear that Jason's body isn't moving quite as fast. And therein lies the key to the seemingly odd change in Thunder Strike's strategy: as after Jason misses a solebutt by a wide margin due to his body slowly locking up, Thunder Strike shoots in with a "Cacopho-knee" and nails him on the side of th e head. Jason crumbles down and looks to be KO'd, leading Thunder Strike to cover and pick up the three count.
Thunder Strike (O) ["Cacopho-knee"- 14:50] (X) Jason Hyde
*Jason had an amazing showing of resistance here. Whenever Thunder Strike gives him a little room to move, he took advantage! It's clear Jason had scouted Thunder Strike well and his defense in the match frustrated him But Thunder Strike realized that Jason's body has slowed down during the match even if Jason's will had not, and he used that to his advantage, giving him a false sense of security by coaxing him into another striking battle when his speed was reduced. Thunder Strike's experience won out here but Jason Hyde showed just what he is capable of from a spirit and defensive standpoint.*
*Jason is still down but Thunder Strike has stayed in the ring, no doubt to ward off any potential scavengers of Jason while he's still down and to make sure he's ok. Once Jason comes to and shrugs off any medical help, Thunder Strike nods to him and then leaves. Jason looks angry at the loss but appreciative of the fans who are giving him a standing ovation for the fighting spirit he showed tonight.
*Brief commercial break for JuLAWLy 4th special!*
*After both men have left the ring, and at least five minutes has gone by, OrochiGeese comes out to ringside flanked by Flip Staley. After being booed vigorously, OG takes a microphone and begins to speak."
OG: "I come before you all to announce that my scheduled match with Marauder is up NEXT."
*The crowd viciously boos at this obvious attempt to take advantage of Marauder's weakened state*
OG: "Oh please... *OG sighs* This is not MY fault, you morons, it's simple cause and effect! Had Marauder not interfered in my "warning" for Jason Hyde last show, Marauder would not be punished now. Let this serve as a lesson for EVERYONE in this league. You stay out of my way or you get taken out. Last show Marauder got in my way, and tonight he will suffer for it. Tonight Jason Hyde got in my way....
*OG contemplates for a second and then curiously smiles.*
OG: "Let me switch gears as I'm being much too negative tonight. Really, the problem with education is that there aren't many good role models out there to demonstrate the proper way to act. That is why I had Flip Staley come out right now with me. You see, in two weeks, on July 29th, Flip and I are scheduled to wrestle each other. *OG laughs...which prompts Flip to as well*. Flip is going to show everyone in the UBL the proper 'way' to get OUT of my way. Isn't that correct, Mr. Staley?"
*Flip simply nods*
OG: "So for those of you in this league...nay, in this WORLD, who are simply too stupid to realize how to avoid my wrath...Flip is going to illustrate for you an easy example. An example that I suggest people like Jason Hyde, Thunder Strike, Twinky McLanahan, Nick Strife, should ALL pay close attention to. For Marauder, it is sadly too late to turn back now. But Flip will serve as a positive role model to everyone ELSE for how to react when I ask them to do something for MY benefit. I will see you next show, Flip."
*Flip nods and begins to leave but pauses as Marauder comes through the curtains. But Marauder is so preoccupied with doing painful things to OG that he totally ignores Flip and runs right by him. Looks like Marauder still has some energy yet despite the earlier beating...but can his anger and intensity surmount the obstacle of a totally fresh and vengeful Geese? Let's find out!

*Marauder gave it his all but it's clear that his 'all' wasn't what it potentially could have been due to Orochi Geese's assault earlier in the evening. While Marauder started the match seemingly fresh, The prior attack had taken just enough out of Marauder's tank to render him tired by the end of the match and unable to put Geese away decisively. Geese took advantage and cinched in his new and vicious "Chaos Mutilation" for the submission victory. The fans are booing voraciously cause they know Geese didn't win this match legit due to the earlier attack, but Geese does not seem to care. However, he is smart enough to get out of the ring area when Naja Mask comes to Marauder's aid to stop any further Geese attack.*
OrochiGeese (O) ["Chaos Mutilation" - 19:55 ] (X) Marauder
*Time for the next match and it is one of epic proportions, AND one that has huge implications down the line for this league. These two are among the favorites to win and a feather in one of their caps from THIS encounter will be a huge relief and accomplishment. Bak Fu and Jack Dod have never faced each other before and to do it with such high stakes will certainly mean that the winner here utilizes extreme poise and a sense of when to grab victory. Will it be the head-dropping, body-mangling Bak Fu who never says die? Or the shenanigan-using, ploy-abusing Jack Dod who never met a guy he couldn't cheat? Brutal force vs. dirty tactics, will of the warrior vs. tools of the con artist!! Bak Fu vs. Jack Dod!! Right f'n NOW!*

And he does just that with a uraken! But that doesn't knock down the MOUNTAIN that is Marauder...so OG runs the ropes and nails him with an upper shotei!
