The seventh show of the Universal Champion singles league is exposing its leg so that it may hitchhike on our internets! Someone who ALWAYS remembers to pack a breath mint is Mean Jean Carter!
Jean: "These introductions are becoming more and more harassing! But I'll let it pass tonight due to the truly epic main event we have before us! Twinky McLanahan takes on Jack Dod! Two icons in an iconic rivalry! I was going to do the whole fan interview thing again but I really don't want to have to deal with those Buffalonians like last time! So instead, here are some cats!"
*We cut to a video of a few tabby cats in a little ring. One cat is wearing clothing that resembles Jack Dod and another cat bears an uncanny resemblance to Twinky McLanahan. There's a ref cat as well. The two cats begin clawing at each other in a somewhatforced independently enthusiastic manner, until one finally reigns supreme. That cat is- wait, I can't tell you cause it would be giving away the main event.*
Jean: "I hope the bookmakers in Vegas don't hold us to those cat predictions! Everyone knows monkeys are more reliable but egads, they're just so expensive this season! Let's get to the ring, Largo!"
What's this? Centurion isn't in the opening match? Am I shaking things up just for shaking sake or do i have something up my sleeve? Who knows! I usually just spin in circles like 10 times before writing each of these shows! Its amazing I even have the proper matchups every week! Well, these LOOK right but...
*Ahem, all is well! And we start tonight with a battle between two masked assassins! Bak Fu and Naja Mask stand across the ring eyeing each other with violent intent! Or maybe they're just misunderstood and really want to be LOVED. No wait...I'm pretty sure Naja Mask just attacked Bak Fu with an eye rake prior to the bell and with no provocation! Looks like we know where this is heading! To Google Video, of course!*

Damn! I bet you didn't think UBL was going to even HAVE a count-out victory, didjya? DIDJYA? Well thats exactly what happened here! Naja Mask had been quite impressive the entire match, perhaps due to the surprise eye rake, perhaps due to a feeling of desperation as he has YET to win a match this league. Naja had picked up his game against Twinky last week but unfortunately for Naja, his increased intensity just wasn't enough to defeat two top guys like Twinky and Bak Fu. However, that's not to say Naja didn't come close, as he did on several occasions against Bak. But when Naja took the fight outside, he got too greedy. Even though he had the advantage due to a vicious looking tornado DDT to the concrete, Bak Fu proved he had more left in the tank then Naja predicted, and hit him with those machine gun punches, stunning Naja long enough to be caught out of the ring at the twenty count, while Bak had made it just in time.
Bak Fu (O) [ Count out - 14:07] (X) Naja Mask
*Once Naja Mask gets his head back (figuratively, of course...though maybe he's headless and THATS why he wears the mask...never mind), he begins protesting LOUDLY to the referee. The ref doesn't listen so he grabs a microphone...oh great, here come the "s"ssss*
Naja Mask: "I demand this match be ssstarted over!! I wassssss cheated!"
*Drake Yoshida, the ref and acting UBL Sergeant, shakes his head no and raises Bak's hand in victory.*
Naja Mask: "I will not leave thisssss ring until justicce is done!"
Drake: "You were counted out, fair and square, Naja. You know I've never screwed you over before. But you lost and we have a show to put on. So if you refuse to go backstage now without further protest, then I will disqualify you from your match for next week."
Naja: "I don't care what-"
*Just then, Marauder comes running out to the ringside area and puts his hand on Naja's mic to stop him from saying anything further inflammatory. Naja looks happy that Marauder is there and begins whispering to him. Marauder then looks tense and points his finger at Bak who is still in the ring*
Marauder: "Aye...Naja said you cheated. He said you used a weapon when you punched him."
*Bak Fu holds up his bare hand in pride...his fists ARE deadly weapons after all*
Naja: "No, not that, you fool! You grabbed something from under the ring when I threw you outsssside!"
*Bak waves him off like Naja has no credibility...which well, he doesn't*
Naja: "Marauder, he mocksssss usssss! He liessss and he mockssss us!"
*Bak Fu is less then pleased to be called a liar and begins stepping their way.*
Marauder: "Aye, we don't need no trouble, here."
Naja: "Oh yessss, thats exactly what we need!"
*As Bak comes over, Naja shoots his poison mist at him. Bak is temporarily blinded but retaliates. However, since he couldn't focus on who he was swinging at, he ended up hitting Marauder with a flying knee instead of Naja! Security runs in and breaks this up, but Marauder has suffered a bit of damage. Naja is dragged away with a smirk on his face while yelling to Marauder that they have to get even!*
*Meanwhile, Marauder is being told by Drake Yoshida that his match is next!! Apparently OrochiGeese gave the order to continue with Marauder's match right now rather then giving him a chance to rest. OrochiGeese must still see Marauder as a top threat in this league if he's plying his shenanigan trade here!
*Centurion comes to the ring next with perhaps the best chance he has at winning a match in this league! Marauder isn't quite in dire straits here but he does look a bit roughed up and is bleeding from the nose after Bak's misdirected (or was it?) retaliatory attack. And Centurion knows a seemingly favorable situation when he sees one, so he gets into the ring immediately, eager to start things!*
Match #2 - Centurion vs. Marauder
Centurion goes right at Marauder's injured face but Marauder keeps pushing him backwards every time Centurion lands a shot on his nose. After a few of these episodes, Marauder decides not to push, but to pick up and slam Centurion down to the mat! Still, Marauder appears to still be out of things from Bak's flying knee. Centurion is able to pick Marauder up for a few slams and keeps the pressure on him with a consul clutch...until Marauder begins lifting himself out of it and then falls backwards onto Centurion.
Marauder is still a bit slow to take advantage so Centurion goes back to his variety of back breakers. However, Marauder has such a thick body that Centurion's offense seems to be fruitless. Centurion decides that if he wants to win this match, he has to go for the injured part of Marauder exclusively. So when he goes to hit Marauder with a clubbing blow to the face, he seemingly gets the result he intended as Marauder howls in pain and falls back a few steps. However, what Centurion did NOT perceive (besides the fall of the Roman Empire) was that his move just made Marauder ANGRY and gave him space, something you NEVER want to do against Marauder. Marauder took advantage of the space caused by his own backwards momentum from the blow and then rockets forward with a shoulder tackle. This time its Centurion who gets knocked back a few paces, rebounds off the ropes, and steps right into a spinebuster by Marauder!
Marauder is feeling his momentum now and goes to pick Centurion up. But Centurion still has enough energy to jab Marauder in the face. Just in case he didnt realize, this was a BAD move last time and it would be within seconds that he'd realize it was a WORSE move now. Marauder was only stunned long enough for Centurion to get up. But when Centurion went to grab the crouching-to-hold-his-face-in-pain Marauder for a powerbomb, Marauder countered and had enough leverage to lift up and then DRIVE DOWN Centurion with the Centrifugal Silencer (Haiti Edge). This would be enough to put away mostly anyone, but Marauder was still pissed off from Bak Fu's knee and Centurion's attempt to take advantage of it. So Marauder drags Centurion over to the middle of the ring and picks him up. Centurion wobbles around dazed and has absolutely no inkling of whats to come. Marauder runs two sets of ropes, lets out a mighty roar, and then SMASHES Centurion's chest with the "Inertian Hammer" (Polish Hammer). An audible CRACK is heard as it appears that Marauder has just damaged the ARMOR of Centurion along with knocking him the fuck out. No pinfall is necessary as the ref wisely notes the KO and ends the match. Marauder is declared the winner and then walks backstage. Meanwhile, medics attend to Centurion and pull some armor out of his chest. Eek.
Marauder (O) ["Inertian Hammer"- 9:15] (X) Centurion
And our next match features two head-turners of this league. Jason Hyde is a newcomer to the UBL who has a number of big victories and overall impressive performance. And Flip Staley is a man who shocked the world a month ago when he turned against and knocked out OrochiGeese, his temporary employer. But Flip is also a very capable fighter who can knock out or submit anyone who gets in his way. Whereas Jason Hyde has shown his ability to use a multitude of moves from different styles to keep his opponents guessing. While this match is too close to call, one thing for sure is that OrochiGeese will be keeping an close pair of eyes (his) on both men. And so will you, the viewer, (hopefully) as we take this to the ring!

Jason Hyde was able to surprise Flip Staley with a lightning quick frankensteiner for the ring, proving that his arsenal of match winning moves knows no bounds! Flip did look very impressive throughout, but the speed advantage he gave up here proved to be one of the keys to victory for Jason Hyde.
Jason Hyde (O) [Frankensteiner- 16:40] (X) Flip Staley
*But these two men are not out of the woods yet, as there is no way in hell that OrochiGeese is letting two fatigued enemies of his leave the ring safely! Especially when Jason Hyde is OG's opponent for the next show in just two weeks! OG made a quiet entrance to the ringside area towards the end of the match when both combatants were too preoccupied with each other. As soon as the match ended, OG snuck up behind them from the arena floor, slipped into the ring undetected, and nailed them both with lariats to the back of the head. OG is now grinning like a kid in a candy store as two of his most hated enemies are down. And he begins kicking them both in the head, alternating between the two while smiling like he was in some kind of twisted, Goose infested amusement park (wait, the Peter Venkman Memorial Arena actually IS in Orochi-O's Land so I guess that statement is too true to be an analogy. Dang.)
OG picks Flip up and then drives him into the mat with a Raging Bolt. He is screaming about what happens to those who betray him while his face twists and contorts with a combination of rage and fulfillment. Flip is OUT COLD and OG turns his attention to Jason, who has began to stand up on his own. OG levels him with a uraken which sends Jason flying into the turnbuckles, And then, a fiendish smile appears on OG's face. He makes a throat gutting gesture and picks Jason up onto the turnbuckles, turns him 180 degrees, and then lifts him on his back. Oh no...not the "Chaos Infinity Hammer!" Not after a match!"
BUT NO!! OG is rocked from behind by a furious Busaiku Knee! And it appears as if someone ELSE's opportunism may just end up balancing out Geese's! Not to mention saving the day, and perhaps CAREER, of Jason Hyde! OG's opponent for tonight, Nightmare, had come out to take advantage of OG's split focus and nailed OG in the back of the head with that knee! Jason lands safely...well safe for HIM, but not ideal for OG. What do you think happens when someone is dropkicked forward while attempting a burning hammer? Their own head is crushed under the body of their intended victim! And just like that, Nightmare has earned himself a big advantage in this match! Not to mention the fact that OrochiGeese is stlll fatigued and battered from encounters of the previous few weeks with Jack Dod, Tommy Fiero, and Thunder Strike. And the coming of the neutral referee, Kenshin, signals that we're about ready to start this match! Can Geese rally back or did Nightmare pull too far ahead before this match even started!?*

Nightmare just had a phenomenal match, coming so close to victory but falling just short at the end. He truly pushed OG to his limit and displayed a lot of his skills. His striking threw OG off his game on a number of occasions just as it has against many other wrestlers in this league. But as hurt and initially overwhelmed as OG was, his wrath was finally IGNITED against Nightmare for blindsiding him and cutting short his beatdown of Jason Hyde. This caused OG to refuse to stay down, refuse to tap out, and refuse to give up. And at the end of the match, to refuse to allow Nightmare to get up when OG was attempting his Orochi Clutch! Nightmare popped up after the multiple chops to the head but then OG hit him him down one more time in position for the same move that has taken out so many wrestlers in this league.
Orochi Geese (O) ["Orochi Clutch" - 15:51] (X) Nightmare
And that aforementioned wrath is is now causing OG to REFUSE to stop his assault on Nightmare! OG is now shouting: "You'll take Hyde's place!" as he has Nightmare up on his shoulders. But would you believe it? OG is foiled AGAIN! Thunder Strike has run down to the ring, causing Geese to let go of Nightmare and flee the area. As angry as Geese is at Thunder Strike, he isn't foolish enough to try to attack him after having wrestled a close match like that. OG sneers at Thunder Strike and shouts ominous warnings, but Thunder Strike just stands there with his own smirk of defiance based on one-upping OG at "Unchained"*
*The camera shot of Thunder Strike staring at OG fades a bit and we launch into a quick commercial montage for some of the different e-feds out there like the recent BINGO-1 Quest for 1 - Part 4 and Fight Project J's very existence! (updated so often its hard to point to an individual show!). Then a quick commercial for PW-W's revival followed by an ad for LAWL's Summer SpectacuLAWLer 2007 DVD. Finally, we get a listing of the UBL "August Open" show card featuring six exciting matches*
As we return from the commercial break, we see that Nick Strife has come out to the ring. He looks confident and why shouldn't he, as he scored a huge victory over Marauder two weeks ago. However, it was one that took a lot out of him as he left the match bloody and battered from the crushing blows and slams he suffered. However, Thunder Strike did not have an easy time two weeks ago either as he faced Flip Staley and, as Geese then pointed out, "beat the hell out of each other to his amusement". So as the league is now more then halfway over, we start seeing a lot of traces of fatigue in these combatants. The key is to find a way to deal with it when there are so many decisive matches still coming up for everyone, especially the front runners. So which one of these two can push forward and grab victory!?

This match was noteworthy for a number of reasons. For one, Nick Strife became the first man in this league to kick out of the Thunder Clap. Whether that was because it was done earlier then usual or because Nick just had TOO MUCH HEART, that is not known. But it was impressive nonetheless and just adds to the growing list of legendary achievements of Nick Strife in this league. Secondly, these two men really went at it with each other, throwing the best they had throughout the match. Nick forced Thunder Strike to pull out a number of aerial moves he hadn't used up til now in addition to the "Shining Echo". Nick came extremely close to victory on many occasions but Thunder Strike just proved to be a bit more aggressive at the end, sealing the match with a high impact Thundersault that spanned almost half the ring!
Thunder Strike (O) ["Thundersault" - 19:35] (X) Nick Strife
And its time for our main event as two guys who simply DON'T care for each other much are forced to use fistacuffs to get their points across! Why couldn't they just use a debate format, I don't know! I guess it WOULD be funny to hear Jack Dod yell: "Point of order: McLanahan SMELLS BAD!" every five seconds but this simply ISN'T the Universal Bicker League so we'll have to watch them wrestle instead!
And thats something the two have plenty experience doing as the Twinky McLanahan/Jack Dod war is well documented in the world of pro wrestling. It was Jack Dod who Twinky defeated at Evo.R to win his PW-W UWH Championship and Jack has never forgotten, forgiven, or forsaken hope that he could get revenge on him! Will tonight be the night? Perhaps! And what revenge it would be as both men are once again tied for wins as current league leaders. Which man will pull ahead tonight and have the best record?
But this discussion would not be complete with just their long time history and what's on the line, we also have to take into account recent events. Last show we saw Twinky McLanahan come to Thunder Strike's aid after Jack Dod attacked him. Twinky has gone on record with his frustration at the shenanigans that UBL has suffered through due to troublemakers such as Jack Dod, OrochiGeese, and the crazy popcorn vender near Aisle 4 who DEMANDS people pay him in quarters. Meanwhile, Jack Dod has just suffered his first loss in the league during the last show and can't be too healthy as a result of OrochiGeese's neck-related offense. Whereas Twinky had fared much better against his opponent and escaped relatively unscathed. Jack Dod must have recognized his potential health disadvantage going into tonight's match and attempted to rectify it, if not outright swing it to HIS advantage by his actions at this past week's BINGO-1 show where he and Caleb mercilessly attacked Twinky. Will that attack be enough to give Jack the edge here, or did it simply add fuel to the fire of Twinky's "anti-shenanigan" rage!? Let's find out now!

Lo and behold we have a winner! And its not that goof in the crowd wearing an "Universal Champion 2007 = Me" shirt! Where'd he get that! Why didn't security throw him out!? All pressing questions, but not AS pressing as who won this past match! And who did that? Twinky McLanahan provided the answer to that question, just as he provided the answer to Jack Dod's huge DodSmack late in the match by getting his feet on the ropes. Some would say that was the turning point in the match as Twinky fought off Jack's greatest attempt to end the match at that point. But both men fought tooth and nail until Twinky managed to hit Jack with the same type of powerbomb that won him the UWH Title last year.
Twinky McLanahan (O) [Powerbomb - 21:42] (X) Jack Dod
And if you've been watching this league, or the career of Jack Dod, for longer then ten seconds, you'd know what came next! After Jack rolled to the floor after the loss, he picked up a chair which was under the ring. He then got behind a celebratory Twinky, perhaps more oblivious then usual cause of fatigue, and BRAINED him with the chair!! Jack then began shouting things alleging that Twinky once AGAIN bribed a ref, just like he did with Bingo and then started putting the boots to him. Finally, he decided to apply the "Four Figure" leglock after all the damage he did to Twinky's leg during the match.
But this hold did not last too long as Thunder Strike then ran out to ringside as well! Jack saw him but was still trapped in his own figure four and unable to escape the same "Thundersault" that we saw Thunder beat Nick Strife with earlier. Jack's breath gets taken out of him by the impact of the move and Thunder Strike detaches his legs from Twinky's before giving Jack the old heave-ho to the outside.
Jack struggles to catch his breath while pointing angrily at Thunder Strike, who has now helped Twinky up and is helping him come to after the beating. Jack then yells at Thunder Strike: "You'll pay for this, next show!" and then stumbles backstage in a cross mood. Ominous words by the king of the Dods. Even seemingly confusing words if not for the easily investigated fact that these two are booked to face each other on that very show for the next round of this league! The same round that will contain another match rife with revenge possibilities as OrochiGeese faces Jason Hyde! So we will see you in two weeks time folks!
As for the fans STILL in the arena, they are treated to the show-ending sight of Twinky and Thunder Strike shaking hands and congratulating each other for the night's events. Though I'm guessing Twinky isn't entirely happy that Thunder Strike beat Nick Strife, Twinky's student, he likely is glad that Thunder Strike stopped Geese and Jack Dod from going TOO FAR in their shenanigans! And that earns Thunder Strike a hearty THUMBS UP from Twinky, one of the highest honors he can bestow!! Good night fans!!
