Sorry for the Orochi-O's TV news onslaught tonight. But I'm pretty excited about this as a new way to get more UBL wrestlers on cards and get more shows going. While these matches won't be first sim, I'll still be approaching them more casually then I do Open/Circuit/League shows.
As Celes, Geese, and Drake alluded to at Renaissance, many of these matches are going to be treated as the 'crowd warm-up' matches of Circuit and Amplitude shows so they are kind of like the dark/house show matches but are actually recorded for Orochi-O's. So these may not have super tight endings but are a way for new wrestlers to show their stuff as well as start to develop feuds, tendencies, etc.
I'm also excited about the new Front Lines division of the Reserve Roster!
I have posted the Front Lines Roster in the Roster Listing thread so it's clear who is there.
The UBL part of Orochi-O's TV is not JUST for Front Lines wrestlers, but it is the primary place for Front Line wrestlers to be seen. They will have the chance to compete on Circuit Shows to make it up to the main UBL Reserve Roster. As for Orochi-O's TV itself, these are the main reasons for it to exist:
1) Get new up and comers in matches - That way when new wrestlers can't fit on a Circuit Show or an Amplitude, they can be guaranteed a match slot just about every month.
2) Give existing talent (especially those who haven't gotten booked recently/frequently) matches against people who don't need wins and can get over by being competitive.
3) Give some people who want to see their wrestlers involved a chance to have matches.
4) Give new wrestlers a bit of a way to get over with crowds before they start a real RP career.
The Front Lines roster will have its share of winners and losers. There will be those who are there to put some minimal resistance against established talent and rising stars. Then there will be the more successful Front Lines members. We're not quite talking 'young lions' here but people who have a LOT of potential who are still rookies. Wrestlers who will benefit from being competitive against main card guys (even stealing a win sometimes) and who can defeat other Front Lines members. Really, the Front Lines roster is somewhere between a Dojo and a group of enhancement talent with upward mobility. For Front Line vs. Front Line matches, sometimes there will be special Dojo matches recorded from the new UBL Dojo ring set-up.
I've already spoken with a few of you who have, in turn, generously and enthusiastically submitted Front Lines wrestlers. Anyone coming into UBL with a new wrestler doesn't HAVE to have them on the Front Lines, you can still have them on the main Reserve Roster but I figure if your wrestler is a total rookie, it may benefit them to start off here. Anyone relatively new who came in before this announcement, don't worry, you'll still be on the main Reserve Roster unless you request otherwise. Not that Reserve Roster guys always win or anything but well, think of the Front Lines guys as trying to earn a spot on the main roster.
And now that this is all public, anyone who wants to submit edits directly to the Front Lines roster can definitely do so. I'm accepting total outright jobbers as well as more upwardly mobile guys. The roster is growing already so I can't guarantee placement on cards and of course, the real irony here is me trying to create a show to get more current people more active, which leads me to create a new roster, that gets so big that I need another show. So I'm trying to avoid that! But if you have people that you'd like to see face higher card UBL talent and wouldn't mind taking a loss, then you can send them here
