Just gonna bump this thread to say that the Win/Loss Standings for the Battalion have been updated. Of course, don't check it out until you catch the recent show first! The Battalion has some momentum as of late. The next show will actually be the halfway point, if you can believe that. The new format (with MJC narrating) has been really enjoyable to write. And the video matches have really been working out incredibly well too thanks to everyone's edits. I figure I'll run through shows a bit quicker now (and maybe be less wordy) so that maybe this can finish up by the summer

Some of the commentary had me crackin' up. You did a pretty good job of making Carter sound like a goddamned tourist. Ha!

Thanks!! ;D ;D I'm REALLY glad you enjoyed her travels...or would that be travails I pictured her wearing touristy clothes and carrying a guide book where ever she went. I probably could have had a whole promo with her getting confused with some of the words that mean different things in England then they do in the US ;D Writing as MJC is one of the things that has reinvigorated the Battalion to me. Its kind of a mixed blessing though cause it feels similar to Voltage in that the more I just "lose myself in the dialogue", the more fun I have. But as a result the shows have bcome longer then I originally intended them to be with this format. So I'm gonna try to keep mindful of that so I can still belt these out within a reasonable time. But I'm very glad you are enjoying her take on things, she's definitely one of my favorite characters to write for. I'll continue having fun with her narration and won't trim anything that is character specific to her, maybe just the post-video match spoiler facts when they are pretty obvious from what occurred in the match.

So this IS the thread for Battalion talk and I feel compelled to say this. As it turns out, things may have worked out for the better with this freakishly long duration for the league. I mean putting aside truisms like "real life first" or "no pressure for fun" and stuff like that which really are true but still leave me feeling a bit sad that things have taken so long... There is now a real silver lining to the delay. And that is the ending. You see - a few weeks ago an idea popped into my mind, one I hadn't considered before. A HUGE modification and improvement of the original ending I had planned for this. It was confirmed by another handler today and it's good to go. And while this post here can be seen as a rationalization of the delay, I think the result is a pretty big deal. Considering it would have been too late to think about this had the league ended in 2009...and certainly by 2008, we actually benefited a lot. I wouldn't be saying this if I didn't think the new ending is worth it. Just another 3 shows to go and 1 of them is 100% finished and ready to be posted this month. Just 2 left and then the tournament. This should be done by Spring, really. Spring 2010 That's not to say all delays are good or worth it but in this case, I think the good MAY have outweighed the bad. And considering how much I've kinda poked fun at this situation over the last year or so, I thought it was only fair to highlight something good that came from it. That's my story, and I'm sticking with it ;D All that said - the next tag league will be done a *bit* differently
