So... this happened
I'm not fully back into e-fedding and UBL isn't back as a full time fed. BUT this show was "real." That means this wasn't the fake bubble world of O's Zone that operated outside the regular e-fed world. Tonight's show (and future UBL shows) take place in the same regular e-fed world that UBL existed in, FPCPP and other e-feds exist in as well. But now that UBL is under Arthur's ownership and with a focus on rookies (and a focus away from Geese who has had a year for his influence on UBL to fade away in people's minds), I feel like I can do occasional shows. Destiny is around to scratch my "super serious giant e-fed story" itch when I want to scratch it. I'll be doing three types of shows:
1) "Basic Training" like shows to get over some rookies. These will be text-based or video depending on what I feel like. I have a lot of fun rookie edits I've made over the last year that I'd like to show off and I enjoyed the Basic Training format from summer-fall of 2011. Bringing that back occasionally is do-able.
2) Classic UBL style commentary shows like tonight's with a combination of rookies, vets, Titles, and angles.
3) Combined shows with other feds like "Silent Knight". I'll contact you with ideas if I have them. All three of my feds are open for this in the future but are currently booked for the next year. I don't want to do more then one combined show per year for each fed and I already have combined show ideas for each fed.
I won't be doing any of these shows on schedule though, or at least not on one that I will feel compelled to stick to. It's entirely possible I get busy and lose motivation and just post 2 shows a year. I'll see what happens. But I have a lot of rookies and rivalries I'd like to feature in some way and I think this is a more interesting format then the O's Zone where nothing had any lastimg impact (by design). And honestly, I believe that the British UBL can just EXIST for long stretches of time without me writing anything due to the nature of Arthur's focus on competition. Bringing it back tonight was a hope I can do a little more for the future but I was just happy writing it again, showing how certain characters/stories progressed over the last year, and leading into Silent Knight (a show which was Sword's great idea to do to bring me back into the fold. If anyone ever has the gall to doubt his e-fed committment, remember that he pimped me back into the scene, LOL)
I'm still open to using other people's edits but I don't want this roster to get too big. And since I'm not doing anything approaching weekly (or even monthly) shows, I just don't have enough shows with spots to feature wrestlers. Plus, I really like the digestible 2 video match format show with a large angle that people can basically ignore if they aren't into that. Having only two matches for major shows allow me to spend more time ensuring they are memorable. So I'm starting very small now due to lack of time but I am open to other people's edits. If you were in UBL in the past as a handler, you can still be part of the roster now. And there are a number of new handlers that I definitely will invite into the fold. But when it comes to show booking, I will be going based on what I feel works best and who I want to see. But there are a number of you that I already have ideas for in fitting into the shows and very loose storylines I may be weaving into the future.
Anyway, OG-FPD started 9 years ago. So it felt good to commemorate that again and it actually was a ton of fun simming and writing this show and having the freedom to work on it without rushing it. I hope you guys enjoy it. Without such quality audience and members over the years, OG-FPD wouldn't have lasted 1 month. So like I said last year, thank you so much for your viewership and participation. We'll see where this goes in the future but, for now, this is fun
