Wrestler Name: Kurt Sanders
Nickname: "The Hurt"
Height: 5'10" (185 cm)
Weight: 216 (98 kg)
Date Of Birth: December 21st, 1988
Hometown: Dickson, Tennessee
Fight Style: American
Return Style: Heel
CRITICAL! Style: Finisher Only
Special Skill: None
Finisher: "The Hurt Ward" (Running dangerous kick)
Specials:
"Clutching Self-plex" (Cobra Clutch Suplex)
"Dickson drop" (Leg Drop Bulldog)
"Butt Hurt" (Jumping Hip Attack to Corner)
Post Diving High Knee
Other Noteworthy Moves:
"Kurtahajime" (Katahajime)
"Whoops bro" (Groin Punch)
"Enziguiri" (Enzuigiri intentionally spelled and pronounced wrong to piss off fans.)
Running High Knee
Hanging Head Scissors
(John Randolph note: I really hope this man never graduates to the NEXUS Roster because I do not want to call matches with those move names.)
FPR Sequences:
1) Slow Neck Cutting -> "The Hurt Ward"/"Kurtahajime"
2) "Clutching Self-plex" -> Pinfall
3) "Dickson drop" -> Pinfall
Unofficial sequences: His "opponent down" pin at the "near death" damage quality is set to 100%. Therefore, the remainder of his specials and noteworthy moves that leave the opponent facing down are actually covered by this system. Even though the pin isn't guaranteed, it's very likely to occur. Therefore, since his "Hurt Ward" finisher doesn't have a pin sequence, it can hypothetically lead to this unofficial super-sequence of absolute doom and poor naming taste.
"Y'all neckbeards:" (Slow Neck Cutting -> "The Hurt Ward" -> Slow Neck Cutting -> "Kurtahajime")
Character Alignment: Pure heel. One of the most intentionally unlikable members on the roster.
Entrance Theme: "Cool to Hate" (Offspring "Ixnay on the Hombre")
History:
UBL historians gave Kurt every chance to tell them about his past but his obnoxious and aggressive behavior led to a short interview, and did not make them especially interested in doing considerable follow-up. It didn't take them long to see that he was a protypical bully. And a few calls to his local community yielded a high school yearbook where he was voted to be "Most likely to wet-willy a rear admiral." He mixes an aggressive 'good ole Southern boy' toughness with a more modern nihilistic approach to getting under people's skin. But don't assume Kurt is overcompensating for insecurity: there is some real bite to Kurt's bark. Recent online videos reveal him to be a regular in the underground fight club community of Nashville. Kurt also comes from a family who was big into "rasslin" and was himself a fan of the old bruisers from the 70's. It didn't take much thought for him to decide to follow in their footsteps. Why he chose to leave his country and join Arthur Wingate's Universal Battle League is anyone's guess. But reports are that he had his eyes on it back when they were still in NY. Apparently the surplus of smaller sized rookies made him quite anxious to compete here and do some "stretching."
Ring style:
Kurt's approach to bullying isn't the only thing he has derived from multiple sources. He also mixes old school brawling with high powered modern striking. He strategy for knowing when to use which comes down entirely to what he thinks will anger the opponent and fans more. If he thinks a thumb to the eye will put people over the edge, he'll use that. If the fans are getting excited and he wants to shut them up, he'll keep his opponent on the mat and rub his elbow into their temple. He's a large man for a junior heavyweight but moves deceptively quick. When he gets a head of steam to set up his running knees or "Hurt Ward" finisher, it doesn't matter how obnoxious he is. It only matters whether the opponent can move out of the way in time. Kurt spends his time making jokes at other people's expenses, but his ring work is not to be taken in jest.
