History:
Kazuo "Chrome" Saji has been an arrogant son of a beach since his teen years when he established his persona as a bully kicking sand in kid's faces and stealing their girlfriends. Over time, he got into a number of fights when his victims had the nerve to stand up for themselves. He realized that although his natural build and strength allowed him to win these confrontations, he was interested in learning the martial arts to ensure that he'd always be able to do what he wanted without worrying about the repercussions. He signed up for his school's wrestling team and also took outside kickboxing classes. After a few years, despite having success in both disciplines, he grew tired of their focus on rules and honor. He wanted something that would reward him for being a brash jerk, not restrict him. He also realized that he'd get more girls when he didn't have to share them with his teammates. So he became a bouncer after graduating high school which gave him a full supply of girls to choose from but also provided him with a boss. He refused to allow anyone to directly control him so he quit and decided to become a pro wrestler.
He recognized this as a profession that encouraged his sociopathic tendencies and had enough lunatics so that he wouldn't necessarily stand out to be disciplined. He drifted around the Japanese indy fed circuit in 2009. But due to his lack of adequate training, he had difficulty making a name for himself. And due to his personality, he alienated himself from each locker room rather quickly. He eventually decided that, in spite of being an unknown and disliked rookie, he was already too high profile for those promotions and their 'low rent' ring rats.
Having burned his bridges in Japan, he decided to go over to an entirely different regional market where the fans would truly understand and root for arrogant sociopaths. He came to the United States, turned down TNA, and signed up for SCW's "VWA" training program in 2010. There he was formally trained by former FPCPP Champion Sonny X and FPCPP superstar Jin Caesaro. Despite that pedigree, Kazuo has heard chants of "Chono Jr." due to his slick appearance, love of sunglasses, and penchant for kicks. Regardless of his reaction to the comparison, he is mostly confused as to why anyone wouldn't try to win through head kicks if the opportunity arose. But he also made sure to become well rounded in the ring and has a number of ways to put away his opponent.
VWA went on a hiatus in 2010 and Kazuo was extremely frustrated with his lack of opportunities to wrestle. As a result, he became a client of "Matsuki Holdings" investment group. Asako Matsuki wasted no time in helping her new charge and got him into the FPCPP promotion. Some were surprised that Kazuo, noted for his hatred of being controlled, would want to sign with the infamously manipulative Asako Matsuki but her immediate results and promise of "hands off" management seems to have silenced the critics. She wasted no time in getting him a coveted spot in the illustrious FPCPP "Star of Jar" tournament in late 2011. Although he did not win, or even go that far, he made his mark.
Kazuo did not make the progress that many expected of him in 2012. He seemed more interested in vacation time and chasing the tail of Rachel Sky of the Gen X stable. When he wasn't chasing her, he was getting closer with Matsuki stablemate Hae-Won. The two grew rather close despite, or perhaps because of, their abrasive personalities. Matsuki, RYOMA, Sako Dasumi, and Narai Kaeo got irritated at the lack of interest Kazuo showed in training and demanded that he start to show initiative or else he would be cut from the team. Matsuki hoped that getting him some international bookings would motivate him to success and even signed him to the resurgent UBL. In fact, he and RYOMA actually made it to the finals of the Universal Battalion League in late 2012. Although they fell just short in the Title match against JET Hamada and the Marauder, they made a statement in their competitiveness. Kazuo began competing on Basic Training programs for the Field Leader Title as well as staying in the Tag team contention race with RYOMA. But he once again lost interest.
It took Miss Matsuki starting a "Matsuki Mobile" international tour to motivate Kazuo. On the first leg of that tour, Matsuki Holdings faced off with the FPCPP promotion. Kazuo faced the FPCPP World Champion, Allen Riggs, in the main event. This was the best match of Saji's career to date. Although he was not able to defeat Riggs, Saji showed more promise than he ever had before and came close to taking the match on a few occasions against his bitter rival. Having competed so fiercely with the man who many consider to be the best in the world, Saji's stock is once again on the rise, and so is the front of his pants.
However, Saji suffered several severe setbacks (...sorry) when Yoshirozuna took revenge for the mocking he experienced from Saji and Kurt Sanders. Yoshirozuna used a Sumoshiro Slam to injure Saji for six months. Saji has still not responded to the incident, preferring to let bygones be bygones and focus on other things due to feeling that he and Yoshirozuna are now "square" for Saji's past bad behavior.
Kazuo Saji recently started the "Chrome Dome" interview segment show in FPCPP which has gotten him further exposure, especially as his debut episode featured the in ring FPCPP return of Orochi Geese. Saji made major waves in the wrestling world as he took it upon himself to come to the aid of rivals Orochi Geese and Allen Riggs by knocking out Matthias of Destiny with the "Chrome Splitter." The repercussions of Saji's heroism (?) are not yet known but are expected to be grave.
Matsuki Mobile announced the Matsuki MECH TV show in June of 2018 which co-stars Kazuo Saji.
Personality:
When Kazuo isn't training for his next match, he's laying on a beach working on his tan or causing trouble up in the club. While he demands respect and recognition from everyone, Kazuo singles out the female portion of his fan base for particular adoration. And that attention is almost always returned with high interest...causing inflation of his pants. Although guys hate that a jerk like Kazuo has so much success with the ladies, they have started to see it as a necessary evil. Kazuo is more relaxed and less hostile when he is around a lady friend that he has already seduced and "polished".
Unfortunately, due to his notoriously short patience for staying in relationships with any one person, you never know when he'll dump a girl on the spot and smash someone's face in seconds later. As a result, no one can be totally comfortable when Kazuo is around. The only constant is watching him strut away wearing his chrome jewelry and a smirk on his face. The only women who have kept Kazuo's attention longer then a week have been Rachel Sky and Hae-Won, and one wonders how he would react if he actually had success with either one of them.
