Character Alignment: Face but "down to business."
Entrance Theme: "Wild Street" (KOF XIII)
Personality:
Darius has been nothing but polite and professional. However, he has not been entirely forthcoming with his past beyond basic facts of his life. He prefers not to talk about it, saying that he has done nothing that the UBL needs to be concerned about. He's here to make a future for himself and that's all that matters. Fair enough. But he's a rookie and the UBL still doesn't know who his mentor is. Drake Yoshida and Matt Rivers have pressed the issue, finding it important. Darius did not think it mattered who got him to this point and claims to be largely self-taught anyway. Acknowledging the prodigious in-ring skill Darius has, Matt and Drake have mostly let the matter go. Perhaps it is because, much like Matt's debut in 2009, Darius has been all business. He works out in the Dojo for long hours and is willing to wrestle anyone. Although he has shown some annoyance at a few characters, he doesn't let personal opinions prevent him from training with everyone else. He's here for the wrestling. And every single person who has stepped into the ring with him has been tested thoroughly by this man's talent and determination.
Darius is one of the first UBL wrestlers from Southern Europe ("South Central" Europe, according to Kazuo Saji who flashed gang signs), hailing from the Republic of Macedonia. As a result, certain wrestlers have taunted him with "Darius the Great" nicknames, but Matt Rivers encourages him to ignore it or just be amazed at the miracle that some of those rivals even received that high degree of education. Darius' Macedonian heritage matters to him but his accent is not very noticeable. That is probably because he says so little to begin with, but also because he has family throughout Eurasia and has traveled around all of his life.
A few months after joining the roster, Darius was chosen to participate in the 2013 Field Leader Title Tournament as a result of Matt Rivers (the former Field Leader) vacating his Title. Darius proved to be an effective choice as he defeated three men in two events to become the second man ever to hold UBL's Front Lines Field Leader Title!
After a number of successful title defenses, Darius put his Field Leader Title on the line during Battle Formation 2013. He faced off against ZUKAMIKUDO, the KPC World Jr. Champion of Kirin Dojo. In his admitted "toughest match evert", Darius managed to narrowly walk away with a victory and won the KPC Title in the process. Darius' goals for 2014 are to continue defending his Field Leader Title, travel to Kirin Dojo to face competition for the Jr. Title, and defeat Joachim for the UBL NEXUS Championship.

Ring Style:
Darius is one of the few wrestlers who asks that people call his moves by their actual technical terms. The only time he has re-named them is when he dislikes the current state of the term: like his "Cattle Mutilation" finisher and "Nirvana Strangle" special. He has given them both more realistic wrestling terms, emphasizing his signature "double arm" usage.
It is clear that Darius trained heavily in amateur wrestling and has some ground based jiu-jitsu experience. But he is not a two trick pony. In fact, it's wildly inaccurate to say that he is of the equine family at all. Darius is very skilled with striking, but deceptively so. Rather then utilize his full body energy to deliver knock out blows, he instead concentrates on quick disruptive striking counters. These allow him to put the opponent off balance so that he can then go in for a more effective suplex. He is capable of delivering a rather powerful and graceful uppercut Shotei (seen above) with near knock out power and perfect "bowling" form, but he will always use it to transition into another more favorable grappling position for himself.
The challenge for all traditional wrestlers making the tradition to pro wrestling is adjusting to quick strikers, odd personalities, and multi-participant encounters. From the few Dojo exhibitions that he has been in, his high level of concentration has allowed him to be a strong competitor against all types of opponents and matches. No one is quite sure how to throw him off his piercing mental game or what he is necessarily thinking about from one moment to the next.
