However, when joined by other Destiny members or simply pressed by Ruby Moreno to properly represent the awe and aura of Destiny, Joachim will come out to his entrance theme.
Biography:
Originally we had no idea what Joachim wanted from the world of professional wrestling or Kirin Dojo. That is because he did not seem to know, himself. He came to Kirin offices with the simple statement of: "This is the next step on my path, but for why I do not know." The look in his eyes was that of sincerity and conviction.
He appeared to have numerous fresh wounds all over his body in various shapes as if they resemble brandings. When asked if he would like medical attention, he lightly smiled and apologized for making us uncomfortable. Then he signed his contract in blood and left after mouthing a silent prayer. We remained uncomfortable.
Joachim's career was initially quiet but successful. He won the majority of his matches and appeared to have a firm grasp on fundamentals despite his lack of formal training. He was very difficult to defeat due to a willpower that went beyond the simple "fighting spirit" designation many stoic wrestlers are granted.
But as fierce as he was in the ring, he was even more gracious and respectful out of it. His giving nature led him to become friends with Jang Bae who recently came to Kirin Dojo in emotional shambles over something he would not discuss that occurred in UBL. Within mere months, a momentous change in Jang Bae's haunted demeanor was shown. He became much calmer and gained his confidence back due to Joachim's teachings. The speed and extremity of Jang's change in personality made some people uneasy around Joachim (also the whole dripping sores "thing" never really went away) but how could anyone really complain about his methods in comparison to what usually goes on in professional wrestling?
The summer of 2011 brought further proof that that there was more going on with Joachim's "path" then many felt comfortable with. He was booked to appear in the Universal Battle League during the Kirin Dojo co-sponsored show, Battle Formation. On this show, Joachim defeated Bai Hu in what was the biggest victory of his in ring career at this point. But it was what happened in the aftermath of that match which put Joachim on the infamous list of "whoa...what's this dude up to?" in pro wrestling.
Joachim called out Jakob of Furis, noted fake vampireand pottery enthusiast, and threatened him with vampiricide due to the actions of Furis' group, Jinchuu. Furis came out undaunted and appeared close to attacking Joachim, who did nothing to defend himself in return. Joachim's ally, Matthias, then came out and bathandled Furis in a way we had never been before.
Joachim was now considered to be a potential player on the world stage but no one knew how major until six months later. At OG-FPD Immortal, both he and Matthias were reportedly spotted in the dressing room of Destiny leader (?) Ruby Moreno. In backing her up, they were both revealed to be Destiny members. But only the enemies of Destiny could place them there so no one knew what to make of it. At UBL "Re-Crowned" in December 2012, Joachim and Matthias both came out publicly as Destiny members. It was even insinuated that Joachim's status in Destiny is equal to that of Ruby Moreno, the woman who everyone believed to be the sole force behind Destiny up until that time.
What the world does not yet understand is how Joachim fits into a Destiny that has largely been Ruby Moreno's machine for the last few years. Joachim and Ruby do not seem to get along but neither are able to remove the other one. Who do they both serve under? And how does Ruby's "Guiding Light" mesh with Joachim's "Path"? These questions have not become any more clear over the last year as the two jockey for position as formal leadership of this shadowy organization.
But in late 2012, Joachim took a major step forward in his career in capturing the King of Kirin World Title, the top Championship in Kirin Dojo! Not only did he win the Title, but he defeated Kirin's own Athrin Kazama for it and has defended against all comers for an entire year.
Then, for reasons not entirely clear, Joachim aggressively challenged Matt Rivers in late 2013 to a Title for Title match for Matt's NEXUS Championship. In what was, to many, a shocking event, Joachim won the match at Battle Formation 2013 and became the second NEXUS Champion under Arthur Wingate's ownership. This figurehead of Destiny has gotten even more credibility as a result of his win and now decisively holds two of the most important Championships in the world.
In April of 2014, Athrin Kazama did what no one else has been able to do, defeat Joachim and, in the process, take back his King of Kirin World Championship. This proves that Joachim can be beaten, and beaten by someone who he defeated before. However, this has also motivated Joachim to train harder than ever. Athrin's victory may have just made Joachim even more dangerous.
Joachim's path may not be entirely known, but it has certainly grown brighter over the last few years and taken him to new heights. There are very few wrestlers who have achieved what he has in the short period of time that he has done so, and still look to be capable of doing even more. One key question remains, however: Just what IS his and Destiny's final goal?
Joachim finally lost the NEXUS Championship at Destiny Drive 2014 when Matt Rivers defeated him for it.
