Hi everyone So yeah, this has been the project I've been working on for quite a while now. I basically got rid of OG-FPD to focus on this and I'm kinda really excited with how things are going so far. I really like the roster of guys we have lined up for the first Universal Championship league, and I think we're gonna have a very competitive tag league start later on in the year too. (after the singles league concludes). The main focus of this fed will be on those two annual leagues, but I also want to have some flexibility in running different types of shows with a lot of talent. So in addition to the League rosters (and the stories that go with it), we'll have a strong core of "UBL Reserves" for "Open" shows. A lot of those shows will be used to start building up stories for the tag league as well as feed into current stories. But I'm also really hoping to get a lot of other promotions working with me for those "Open" shows so we can have some offer and cross-brand matches. Especially matches from feds that don't often utilize video matches. I think this is a way to get those wrestlers seen in a whole new way. I also want to run some "dream matches" and generally just matches that we all want to see. Let's have FUN with this!* *Anyone caught NOT having fun will be in serious f'n trouble and be subject to multiple Goosings of biblical proportion.

Paddy Baker hates fun and fears neither man or goose.
Good looking site here Geese. The backstory is super detailed and I'm really looking forward to how you run the UBL!

On a side note: Since I know some of you are rightly concerned about this given my history of odd characters: The " " mentioned as the 12th participant in the singles league is in no way related to: 1. Steal underpants 2. ? ? ? ? ? 3. Profit They are not the 12th participant. Just thought I'd clear that up right away

I have no idea what's going on or how I found my way here, but here I am... Hooray! Another message board account! I actually have something of semi-relevance to add for once, too... While reading the OG bio, I came across the "titles held" part and saw you only have a vague timeline of the GWF Television title reign. If you'd like to be painstakingly accurate and put in the exact dates, they were December 29, 2002 - January 19, 2003. Unless you actually knew that and just wanted to make the reign sound longer, in which case, I never posted this information. Also, this "Universal Champion" thing seems to be ripping off FPJ's Champion of the Universe title. Though, the CotU itself was inspired by a scene from the Simpsons... (Comic Book Guy: "Now go away, we are racing for the title of Champion of the Universe.") Edit: I cut out an unnecessary word that mysteriously got typed. Also, dig my President Blackhart avatar...

LOL, you stumbled non-drunkenly onto yet another of my not so secret plans announced to the world!! Welcome to the UBL, JB!! I think you'll enjoy the action here. Provided you like watching Roman Centurions do battle with a cast of motley characters that may bare some relation to past e-fed rivals of yours!! Also, I'd be HONORED if I could add FPJ to the list of feds UBL has business relations with Thanks for the accurate OG TV Title reign dates, I actually wasn't sure about that and I'm glad you let me know. I'll update that now (2 minutes later: UPDATED!) As for the "Universal Champion" name, the more i think about it, the more I realize I probably was inspired by that same Simpsons scene too. (Otto crashes and he still cheers, LOL). When you first announced the title name for FPJ I LOL'd cause it was so similar to what I had planned (but kept super secret for like months). Of course you know this will just DEMAND some kind of title resolution/unification/schmozz that doesn't settle anything ala old school unification matches Everyone wins...except the fans! I suggest Centurion vs. Rat Bastard going 30 minutes for a draw in a land mine death match

Also, I'd be HONORED if I could add FPJ to the list of feds UBL has business relations with Yeah, if I could ever finish enough edits and put a pack together, I'd be up for that. The "especially matches from feds that don't often utilize video matches" part of your first post made me think of FPJ, but then again I am pretty self-centered. Or maybe that's just a gimmick, I don't know...

Or maybe that's just a gimmick, I don't know... I'd by lying if I said I wasn't thinking of FPJ as one of those feds There are a lot of SUPER QUALITY e-feds right now which I follow and work with that don't utilize video matches. And I'd love to help supplement them by granting an offer match or eight. Or crossbrand match. So think about it and know the offer is there if/when you want to pursue it. And if you want, I'll add FPJ to the list now (pending your permission) to start the ball in motion. You've got plenty of time to get me edits anyway, there's no rush. The June show is filled but I'll be doing these "Open" shows at least once a month. So heck, take your time and if you want to get me some edit for late summer, Fall, etc, I'd be happy to get a video match with them.

Haha, you know, I just noticed the: And if you want, I'll add FPJ to the list now (pending your permission) to start the ball in motion. part of your post from over a month ago yesterday and was gonna reply, but didn't, obviously... I was gonna say that'd be fine... The only problem is, I have no idea what guys I'd want to use. I am actually working on moves/logic for some characters right now, but I have very few of my edits complete... At the most, I've got Book Matthews, Rat Bastard, Rico Pizzicato, Tony the Tiger Mask, Muga K and Shawn Lightning (though I'm not sure they're all 100%), and currently trying to finish Caesar Madopoulos. Still, I don't know if I'd want those particular guys used, and especially in the case of Madopoulos, if you'd want to use him, as he's rather garbagy (forks, FIRE~!, high weapons usage... though he might match up well with Stuart )

MO! Stuart's been going straight lately. :X
More semi-power like. You'll notice that not only is he bigger(officially he has been over the junior heavy bracket for a while, but has been gradually getting stronger and stronger since before that) but less weapon happy, too.
Is more likely to beat someone with a Lariat than big fire and more likely to throw elbows than use a chair.

oic
That's fine actually, since I was deliberately keeping Caesar out of deathmatches in FPJ for the time being, and having him DQ'd in most of his matches due to weapon usage, to build up to the eventual hardcore division/title. So it might be better to keep him unbooked outside of FPJ anyway...

I was gonna say that'd be fine... The only problem is, I have no idea what guys I'd want to use. Well how about we do this: I can add FPJ to the "promotions UBL works with" list and you can give me templates/guys once you decide who you want to participate. I'd lean towards Rico Pizzicato just cause he's a former PW-W guy so Geese would be inclined to remember him and book guys for him. I know Book Matthews is your champ (FPJ's Universal Champ!) so if we used him, it would be best to be BIG. But I'll be happy to receive one at a time since it will take a bit of time to get the template in my game anyway. So if you wanted to start with one guy, we can go from there The fun thing with working with other promotions for "Open" shows is that things can be very casual and loose and a relationship over time. Open shows will run every month so there's plenty of time and opportunities to get guys to me and have them booked. I think it would be cool to see some FPJ guys in video matches and see them against some UBL talent AND talent from other promotions. But as I said, its a flexible thing and not at all time intensive. So take all the time you need in getting one of the templates to me and we can go from there

Man, it's funny, 'cause when I look over possible characters, they're pretty much either a champion (or have a good chance to be one soon) or they kinda suck. Like, Rico is the World Lightheavyweight Television champion... I'm beginning to think FPJ might have too many titles. Also, I'm realizing I haven't been able to test my dits' logic much. I mean, it might not be TOO much of a problem, but my front headlock of doom and non-sequence pin percentages at LD/ND might not be ideal (both in terms of meshing with other dits and how I want my own dits to perform with each other)...

10 Titles too much?! BAH!! When I was a kid I had to job 30 titles on my way to school just to 'protect the business!' And yeah, if you need to tweak/test your edits more, thats cool. I have no problem with R trigger USAGE, i just don't use R trigger when I have any ground pins. But if you have pins only for sequences (or powerbomb pins for example), then i got no beef with R trigger. But your point remains as you may want more time to tweak. And considering you will use the template method to get stuff to me, take your time Honestly, I've got the "Open" shows booked to August, so the earliest I'd be able to fit someone new in is September ANYWAY. So you really have a long time to decide who you want to participate in a show and get me the corresponding template. So please, take yer darn time and send me whoever ya want. Though males are greatly preferred. (If you have fruits or vegetables you'd like to share with me, my LAWL can accomodate you. And if you have women, OG-Joshi can help.) So yeah, commence the jiggling and think about who you want involved, but there's no rush May I add FPJ to the list in the meantime? P.S. I'm a big fan of Captain Randall Banner so if he's available...

Yeah, the thing is, I do my stats/moves/logic design in Excel and Notepad before putting them in the game, since I want to be able to enter them as fast as possible when using the emulator. So, I currently have a standard of 5% front headlock at LD, plus 10% on ground pins at ND. Now, that sounds like a potential recipe for disaster, but in the few sims I've been able to do, I don't think the headlock -> elbow -> pin -> 3 count has happened more than once, but I'd definitely change that if it happened too often... The only problem would be just where I would assign that five percent in front grapple LD, really. Honestly, I've got the "Open" shows booked to August, so the earliest I'd be able to fit someone new in is September ANYWAY. So you really have a long time to decide who you want to participate in a show and get me the corresponding template. I see. By that time, there will probably be dozens of title and roster changes in FPJ, so that could factor in to the "who should I use?" dilemma. Hell, maybe I could even finish an actual dit oack by then (but don't count on it)... May I add FPJ to the list in the meantime? Sure. What's the worst that can happen? *looks around nervously* P.S. I'm a big fan of Captain Randall Banner so if he's available... Haha, I was actually talking to Dave the other day about if I submitted an edit, that the easiest to actually RP for (aside from JB himself) would probably be Randy Banner, since I'm usually more comfortable with less serious characters... COME ON!
