Happy 19th Birthday, OG-FPD!
I'm late to this post but at least I got
something cooking this year for the occasion! 6️⃣🅿
For the past few posts, this thread turned into a reflection of the past year so I'll continue that but first I'll say this.
11 years ago, in 2011, I ended my feds with OG-FPD Immortal. I thought that was it.
Exactly 1 year later, I brought them back at Re-Crowned.
So I see the past 10 years as being my second go at all of this. And I've been really happy to have UBL and OG-Joshi back even when I'm not actively working on them. I've had some good stretches of tours over the past few years but a lot of stretches of nothing as well. And I do regret not being able to actively represent many of the storylines that I've had going in my head the past few years ever since bringing things back. But since I've become even busier than I was when I actually ended the feds in 2011, I'm glad I've been able to do as much as I have been: especially in the past few years. In late 2019 I planned the huge double-streamed Collider Tour. There are multiple reasons, some obvious and some less obvious, why I haven't been able to really execute on it the way I wanted. But I take a lot of enjoyment out of just knowing these feds and
characters are still active, and that I can do shows and RP's when I have the energy and time.
As for the past year: It started off grueling trying to finish the 12/13/
2020 show, got a lot more active in the late spring, then got real messy in the late summer into fall. The reason is that FPW started crashing repeatedly in late August through September. That meant that all my Fire Pro time went into deleting hundreds of moves to get the game to be stable again. That kind of took me out of the mindset and explains the complete lack of activity over the past few months, aside from an OG-Joshi show.
I have made progress on the 19th OG-FPD Anniversary show and hope to finish it by early January. After that, I'll have to find a way to balance my desire to do things the way I used to with the realization that I simply can't anymore. Those huge shows have just become too big of a burden to produce and I suspect to read as well. So it's time to really commit to maximizing the parts of e-fedding I like that keep me invigorated while trimming the fat of some old methods of show creation that actively get in the way of progressing things.
I hope 2023 is more productive and full of less obstacles than this past year. For UBL, I want to finally present the the Basic Training program in a way that matches my head canon over the past year. I would also like to significantly progress the Continuum League...which is starting to make the original infamous Battalion look like it was over before we knew it. For OG-Joshi, I want to advance the EMERGE program and truly form the main roster. I also need to work on my edits more cause I have chunks of Basic Training and EMERGE program edits unfinished. That is partially a result of getting a
ton of both from recent C!C drafts. That is a very good thing, but 90% of the main EMERGE class consist of significantly unfinished edits. Basic Training is much further along. Obviously, not being able to work on the game for the pas few months hasn't helped. But in general, I've become really streaky when it comes to edit making.
Overall, I really want to thank everyone for their continued involvement and viewership in my promotions. Twinky once said that his favorite aspect about my promotions are that they are no-pressure, creative playgrounds for those involved. And I truly hope that you have all enjoyed your participation here and interactions with me behind the scenes. That has always been one of my favorite parts of this experience. The time I have spent talking and planning storylines with everyone who has stepped through the doors of these feds and others remains amongst my absolute favorite memories of the community.
So thank you and please to look forward to more continued fun! 😄
